Tuberculosis is one of the major public health problems in Nepal effecting around 40,000 people each year. Among them 20,000 people develop active TB infecting the persons in his contact. Early diagnosis and treatment of the case will stop spreading of infection to other.
The project is implemented in Parsa district in partnership of Family Health International and in close collaboration with District Public Health Office. The project focuses innovative idea of active case finding in population more vulnerable to TB and less access to health services.  





Goal of the project:

To ensure appropriate TB treatment for vulnerable population of Parsa through innovative active case finding
 

Objective of the Project:

  1. Increase TB case detection through active case finding among Nepali seasonal labor migrants to India from Parsa district of Nepal.
  2. Increase TB case detection through active case finding among high-risk, hard-to-reach, vulnerable populations. (FSW, Clients of FSW, IDUs)
  3. Increase TB case detection through active case finding among contacts of TB sputum positive cases.
