Introduction

This project commenced August 2005 and will end in December 2008. It is part of the DACAW program supported in the district by UNICEF and currently working 14 VDCs of Parsa distrct along with Birgunj Sub-metropolitan City. 53 Peer Educators have been mobilized under this intervention.

 

 

 

Objectives

Life Skill Based Education (LSBE) 

  • To increase knowledge and attitude towards HIV & AIDS
  • To strengthen the capacity of the target group ( urban out of school children aged 10-19 years) through LSBE
  • Youth Friendly Multipurpose Service Centre
  • To provide easy access to information about HIV & AIDS 
  • To ensure the centre provides a safe and supportive environment 
  • To increase the quality of life for people with HIV 

Activities 

  • Mobilise 53 Peer Educators from target to provide information, support and arrange LSBE training to target group
  • Run centre for target group to visit and receive information, counselling, support and mix with their peers
  • Referral to health services
  • Provide primary health care
  • Give LSBE to target group
  • Interaction with local groups about program
  • Provide training to people with HIV
