The Nutritional Rehabilitation home (NRH) is a Rehabilitation center for severely malnourished children. In Birgunj this facility is managed by BIJAM/ NYOF/ NSRH. The founder of this organization (NYOF) is Olga Devis Marry. There are six NRH in Nepal in Different zonal Hospital of Nepal like: Kathmandu NRH (Directly running by the donar) Biratnagar NRH, Bhadrapur NRN, Nepalgunj NRH, Birgunj NRH and Kanchanpur NRH jointly with Zonal Hospital. It was started Admission of PEM Child form 06-12-2006.Stapping from 15-11-2006, Inaugaration on 10th January 2007 The NRH is a residential facility.
The mother/ attendants (hereafter called caretakers) and children live at the home until the children are restored to normal weight and health .Since the problem is often caused more by ignorance than poverty, the mothers are taught the principles of good nutrition. They are taught to prepare the food for their children and how to feed them at NRH. Only locally available foods are used, so that the mother can continue to follow the good nutritional practices she learned after she returns to her village. Following discharge, a field staff visits the child and mother at regular intervals to assure that the child has maintained good health during the second or third visit of the field staff. The facility which is provided to the malnourished children and for care taker is FREE OF COST or NRH doesn't charge for all these service provided for target
