Harm Reduction

BIJAM has been implementing "Harm Reduction Program among IDUs through Peer based Outreach intervention” since August 2002, now partnering with Save the Children Nepal in Bara, Parsa & Makwanpur under SSF-Global Fund Round 10.

The purpose of Harm Reduction Program is to minimize the incidence of HIV infection and other blood borne diseases among IDUs in the project area. In order to reduce the rate of sharing needle-syringe, proper sterilization of injecting equipment and health maintenance service delivery, BIJAM has covered approximately 80 km of major transport routes of the center cluster i.e. Cross Border to Nijgadh and Hetauda.
