
A Comprehensive Package for Migrant & their Families (AMDA-HAMI
Project) is effective from 2 May 2012 in Parsa district by BIJAM with the
support from AMDA Nepal focused on reducing HIV prevalence on migrants & their
families. There are a six staffs including a district outreach supervisor & five
volunteer outreach workers in five VDCs.
Objectives:
To control & prevent the spread of HIV in migrants & their families in Parsa
district.
Strategy/Approaches:
- Implement behavior change communication interventions at source & transit point increase safe sex through outreach program
- Provide healthcare services focused on prevention & care of STIs
- Provide access to voluntary confidential counseling & testing (VCCT) services.
- Provide condoms & lubricants & skill in use & negotiation.
- Promote an enabling environment to reduce stigma & support program implementation.
